Bainsford is a village on Forth and Clyde canal, just north of Falkirk. My third great-grandfather, James Cowie, moved there from Camelon in the 1850s, likely running away from his financial problems. He and his family lived in Bainsford until into the 20th century. This is his story. Coming soon….
